I have taught for 27 years and really enjoy the process of watching students improve and gain confidence through strategic preparation. Life is not about where we start but how we finish, and a student-centered action plan helps ensure success. My instructional strategy is student-centered, cultivating a balance between auditory and visual approaches, i.e., reading, writing, and analytical discussion. History, Social Science, and life are best understood from multiple lenses, i.e., social, economic, political, and cultural perspectives. I have taught survey courses (all levels), i.e., intermediate, college prep, and AP US History, American Govt, World History, European History, Cultural Geography. At the end of the day, History is a story well told! The story comes to life and is a wonderful tool to learn about how the world works. Synthesizing, evaluating, and analysis skills grow as the student is guided through the curriculums.
