About Zachary
Hi! I’m a University of Central Florida graduate with a B.S. in Clinical Psychology (3.96 GPA) and a passion for helping students master tough academic subjects without the stress.
During my time at UCF, I served as a university Teaching Assistant for both Psychology and History courses. Working on the instructional side of higher education gave me invaluable insight into how academics operate: I learned exactly how professors design exams, what graders look for in essays, and where students most commonly lose points.
My background in clinical psychology heavily shapes how I teach. I do not rely on passive memorization; instead, I use proven cognitive learning strategies to help you retain information long-term. Outside of academics, I am a huge golfer. Learning to manage the mental game on the golf course requires patience, focus, and strategic adjustments—the exact same qualities I bring to tutoring. I specialize in creating a supportive, low-pressure environment where you can overcome academic anxiety, sharpen your executive functioning, and build lasting confidence.
Whether you are aiming to tackle AP Psychology, master research methods and statistics, outline a top-scoring history paper, or raise your overall GPA, I am here to help you develop the strategies you need to succeed.

My tutoring is tailored for high school, undergraduate, and post-baccalaureate students looking for targeted academic support or test preparation.
Academic Levels: High School (AP, IB, Honors), Undergraduate (Lower & Upper Level), and Adult/Continuing Education Learners.
Core Subjects: General Psychology, Clinical & Abnormal Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Research Methods & Behavioral Statistics (SPSS/R), US History, World History, and European History.
Specific Needs: AP Exam Preparation (AP Psych, APUSH, AP World, AP Euro), College Essay/DBQ Writing & Editing, Exam Prep Strategies, and Conceptual Breakdown of Complex Theories.
Teaching Method & Techniques
I combine cognitive psychology principles with direct instructional coaching to help you master concepts faster and retain them longer.
Active Recall & Spaced Repetition: Instead of passive reading, we use targeted questioning to pull information out of memory, cementing long-term retention for exams.
Scaffolding & Conceptual Mapping: We break dense psychological theories and complex historical timelines down into digestible, interconnected visual maps.
The "Grader's Lens" Strategy: Drawing on my experience as a university TA, I teach you how rubrics work so you know exactly what examiners look for in free-response questions (FRQs) and essays.
Low-Stress, Supportive Environment: Applying clinical psych principles, I tailor sessions to reduce academic anxiety, build executive functioning skills, and restore confidence in tough subjects.
A Typical 60-Minute Lesson Plan
Check-In & Goal Setting (5 Mins): Review active coursework, clarify immediate pain points, and set 1–2 specific goals for the session.
Targeted Concept Review (15 Mins): High-yield breakdown of core topics (e.g., neural transmission, historical policy shifts, or statistical tests) using real-world examples.
Guided Practice & Application (20 Mins): Working together through practice exam questions, essay outlines, or statistical problems, applying active recall techniques.
Independent Execution & Feedback (15 Mins): You take the lead on a sample problem or essay prompt while I observe, offering real-time adjustments and performance tweaks.
Wrap-Up & Actionable Homework (5 Mins): Quick recap of key takeaways, review of study strategies for the week, and clear action items before our next session.
