• When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  As a university student, I understand the struggles of keeping up with the brief, deadlines. It requires a lot of good time management and working smart. Your portfolio is the one thing you will have to showcase employers your skills and abilities, so it's important to make sure you do the hard work on time. Luckily, I've learned from mistakes, and I'm able now to help tutor others who may be struggling with portfolios and studio work.

• Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I push to develop an understanding of the brief and what it is required of the student to get a high mark for studio. With a 90% score on my studio module, I have the experience and skill to know exactly what universities are seeking. Being receptive to critical feedback and most importantly doing a lot of mistakes is the key, but it also requires hours of work.

• What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  Coming out of the university bubble into industry, has allowed me to gain professional perspective into architecture. Once students graduate they will have to learn how to transition from student work to professional work. This is a big challenge as the gap between university and industry in architecture is still big to this day. Requirements of what universities want to see and employers are two completely different things.

• What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P) ?

  I am able to guide students to what they need to have in their portfolio not only to succeed in university but also to increase chances of employment after graduation. I wouldn't say I am passionate for tutoring, but if I can help make someones life easier then why not?
