About Joyce
I believe music has the power to change lives — to bring joy, build confidence, and open doors to new possibilities. My journey with the piano began as a young child, and over the years, it has grown from a personal passion into a calling to share that joy with others. With over a decade of teaching experience, I have guided hundreds of students across different countries, cultures, and age groups — from absolute beginners to advanced performers preparing for graded exams. My students range from energetic 5-year-olds discovering music for the first time to adults rediscovering the piano after many years, each with their own unique goals and stories. I am formally trained in piano performance, music theory, and exam preparation for both Trinity College London and ABRSM syllabuses. Over the years, my students have achieved 100% pass rates with distinctions and merits — but beyond results, I focus on building a strong foundation in technique, musical expression, and a genuine love for playing. My lessons combine structured, classical methods with creative, fun-based learning — ensuring students not only progress but also enjoy the process. I use interactive worksheets, ear-training games, and performance opportunities to make each class engaging and memorable. I’ve also conducted student recitals, group workshops, and duet/ensemble classes, giving learners the confidence to perform in front of an audience and experience the joy of making music together. For me, teaching piano isn’t just about training fingers to play the right notes — it’s about helping students discover their musical voice, encouraging them to dream bigger, and showing them that music can be a lifelong companion.
