About Sumhitha

Hello, my name is Sumhitha! I have been tutoring people in a variety of subjects for the past few years. As a literacy tutor through Reading Partners and the Santa Clara Libraries, I have developed a coaching strategy that allows my students to find a way to navigate a completely new language system. As a teaching assistant in both high school and at Boston University, I have come up with ways to break down difficult concepts into something more digestible and memorable.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology. I have also taken all necessary pre-med classes and the MCAT. With my schooling, I am confident that I can help my students thrive in their classes. I am excited to share my knowledge and the joy of learning!

About the lesson

Teaching starts with a general level check, so I can know what teaching style works best for the student and what the student needs help with. I make it a point to work with students on what they want to learn! Lessons start with objectives, and then we will go over and practice the concepts together.

I can help anyone from elementary to high school with English, Biology, Psychology, and Chemistry. I can help people of all ages with literacy as well. I am also available to help college students with psychology and introductory organic chemistry, biology, or biochemistry.

Sumhitha has been my tutor since high school. She was instrumental to me passing almost every science class I took, especially AP Biology. She is incredibly smart, kind, and patient. Her methods of teaching go beyond the average tutor’s. If you’re looking for someone who is not only proficient in her subjects but a source of motivation for your student, Sumhitha’s the one!
