About Lydia
As a high school senior, I am an experienced pianist with 14 years of playing and 5 years of teaching both privately and in group settings. I have trained in classical piano, music theory, and performance, allowing me to guide students with a structured yet flexible approach. My teaching adapts to each student’s needs, whether they are preparing for exams like ABRSM and RCM or learning for personal enjoyment. I emphasize both technical precision and musical expression, helping students build confidence and a deep appreciation for music. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students can develop their skills while enjoying the process.

For students on a professional track, I focus on technique with scales, arpeggios, and Hanon exercises, alongside music theory and sight-reading for a strong foundation. Repertoire includes classical pieces from Bach, Mozart, and Chopin, refining phrasing, dynamics, and expression. I also train students in ear training and performance skills, preparing them for ABRSM, RCM, and competitions.
For students learning as a hobby, I make lessons engaging by teaching favorite songs, chord-based playing, and improvisation. I incorporate playing by ear and basic music theory to build confidence while keeping lessons fun. My goal is to help students enjoy music while developing strong, adaptable skills.
