my job is to discover each child or person's natural interests and abilities and to build in that together.

I cannot imagine living my life without Music!

My mother was a public school teacher who always used music in her classrooms. Teaching comes quite naturally to me.
Mot is in my blood as well as being my natural style.

my first students were friends & neighbors.

I have played and written songs (& ditties) since I was 3 or 4. I started teaching my neighbors before I opened my music store to the world.
I've been pianist in parties, weddings, churches, community events, and have been a member/host to a weekly music group for 10 years. I continue to discover & enjoy live music of many kinds & from many cultures.

About the lesson

I need to discover their interests and experience with music. From there we can settle on a varied number of books, songs, material to use.

I do a lot of playing by ear as well as from the page. I encourage the development of Both - for the greatest pleasure & freedom to play - for themselves and for friends & family.

I generally charge $35 per full hour of private lessons. Younger students need less time at first. I can offer family rates. And a discount for pay ahead or for irregular time slots.
