About Jennie

I have had a passion for Japan and the Japanese culture all of my life. It has been my pleasure to share this love with 1000s of students, many of whom I have taken to Japan on tour! I have a kind and fun-loving demeanor, approachable and understanding of the challenges in learning a script-based second language. I like to use technology and games as learning tools.

About the lesson

As a non- native speaker of Japanese, I understand the challenges of learning this second language. I have many tips and tricks to aid language acquisition. I have helped some exceptionally able students and also those who have found Japanese very difficult. With the right approach and mindset, I believe all students can learn Japanese and develop a deep affinity with language and culture.

Jennie taught me Japanese throughout high school. I thoroughly enjoyed her lessons; they were organised, fun, interesting, and well taught. Jennie taught with various teaching techniques to ensure students understand key concepts. Jennie also applied various multimedia resources to encourage fun learning for students of all ages. Not only did my Japanese improve with Jennie's teachings, but my understanding of Japanese history, culture, and customs were also enriched; this was great preparation for my two exchange study trips to Japan.
