About Tom
My professional name is - Tom York
I have a Ba Honours in Acting from the renowned London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art - LAMDA .
Since graduating, I have worked professionally for nearly a decade in TV and Film - I was a regular on the BBC's Poldark for three years, as well as appearing in other shows such as American Gods, Van Der Valk and the upcoming picture 'Stopmotion'.
I have a wealth of experience working across different genres with numerous directors and some of the best up-and-coming and established talent in the industry.

Sessions will be conducted in a relaxed, creative and collaborative atmosphere.
My sessions are practical in nature, and we will sensitively approach acting in three stages:
We will talk about the script so that we understand the bigger picture and make well-informed choices.
We will focus on finding the best way to connect to the character and the scene to best make it relatable to us.
We will work on building confidence and getting out of our heads. Often the hardest step in a truthful and engaging performance is to get out of our own way and let ourselves work off instinct and intuition.
I work mainly with students 16+ but am happy to work with actors of any age already working in the industry. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch.
