My approach to tutoring focuses on teaching efficiently and effectively while ensuring that students are able to understand and manage new knowledge without feeling overwhelmed. I believe that students learn best when lessons are structured, interactive, and paced according to their individual needs. Rather than relying heavily on traditional content-heavy lessons followed by unguided practice, I place greater emphasis on guided practice, active participation, and step-by-step explanations. I will first introduce and explain a concept clearly, then work through examples with the student before gradually allowing them to apply the knowledge independently. This allows me to identify areas of difficulty early and provide guidance where needed.
I also place strong importance on students' well-being and confidence. I believe that a student's emotional state can greatly affect their ability to learn. Therefore, I aim to create a supportive and comfortable learning environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn from them without feeling pressured or embarrassed. Lessons are typically 1–1.5 hours, depending on the student's age, needs, and concentration level. I believe lessons should be long enough to cover the necessary material while still allowing students to remain focused and engaged. I am currently able to tutor Primary 1 to Primary 3 Mathematics (P1–P3). My teaching approach is centered around patience, clear explanations, guided practice, and adapting lessons to suit the student's learning pace. My lessons are currently suitable for Primary 1 to Primary 3 students learning Mathematics. I aim to help students build a strong foundation in mathematical concepts while developing their problem-solving skills, confidence, and ability to approach questions independently.
