My Approach as a Tutor:

Teaching Method and Techniques

My teaching method is a blend of experiential learning and personalized instruction. I believe that acting is best learned through doing, so my classes emphasize hands-on practice, real-world scenarios, and interactive activities.

Techniques I employ include:

Scene Study: Analyzing and performing scenes from plays, films, and television to understand character development, motivation, and relationships.

Improvisation: Encouraging spontaneity and creativity through improv exercises to build confidence and quick thinking.

Audition Preparation: Tailoring sessions to prepare students for specific auditions, including monologue coaching and cold reading techniques.

Voice and Movement: Incorporating voice modulation, accents, and physicality to enhance character portrayal and performance.

A Typical Lesson Plan:

A typical lesson plan is structured yet flexible to accommodate the unique needs of each student:

Warm-Up (10 minutes): Physical and vocal exercises to prepare the body and voice for acting.

Technique Training (20 minutes): Focused work on a specific acting technique or skill, such as improvisation or scene study.

Practical Application (20 minutes): Performing scenes or monologues, followed by constructive feedback and coaching.

Audition Prep (15 minutes): Working on audition materials or specific roles, with emphasis on delivering a polished and confident performance.

Wrap-Up (5 minutes): Review of the day’s work, setting goals for the next session, and addressing any questions or concerns.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:

My dual experience as an accomplished actor and a casting professional sets me apart. I bring insights from both sides of the audition table, offering students a comprehensive understanding of what casting directors look for. My teaching is grounded in practical industry experience, having worked on major TV shows, films, and commercials. This real-world perspective helps students navigate the acting world with confidence and professionalism.

Additionally, my personalized approach ensures that each student's unique strengths and areas for improvement are addressed. I provide tailored feedback and create a supportive environment where students feel empowered to take risks and grow as performers.

My lessons are designed for:

Aspiring Actors: Those who are new to acting and want to build a strong foundation.

Intermediate Actors: Individuals with some experience looking to refine their skills and prepare for professional auditions.

Advanced Actors: Seasoned performers seeking to deepen their craft and tackle more challenging roles.

Degree-Level Students: Acting students pursuing formal education who need supplementary training or audition coaching.

Specificities: My coaching can be tailored for film, television, theater, and commercial acting, ensuring relevance to each student's career goals.

By focusing on practical skills, personalized instruction, and real-world insights, my approach as a tutor equips students with the tools they need to succeed in the competitive world of acting.

Thanks for reading, and I can't wait to work with you!
