Mechanical Engineering PhD student tutors rigorous problem-solving skills for college-level Calculus in Berkeley, CA

About Griffin
I'm an incoming PhD student at the University of California, Berkeley where my research will focus on computational thermomechanics -- basically simulating heat shields for rockets during atmospheric reentry.
I tutor advanced subjects in Calculus (AP AB/BC, Multivariable, and Tensor), and my teaching experience includes 1-on-1 tutoring, working as a teaching assistant, and guest lecturing for graduate-level engineering seminars. I also spent two summer internships working as a crash structures engineer at Tesla, using these exact skills to improve vehicle safety.
In my spare time right now, I'm learning differential geometry for elastic shell theory, C++ through assorted engineering projects, and Muay Thai for fun! I am a dedicated tutor committed to helping you master your subject with mathematical rigor and genuine intuition.

I believe the greatest value I can offer is teaching you the "skill of learning" rather than just lecturing from a textbook. My tutoring involves working side-by-side to solve complex problems, where I can identify gaps in your process, coach your problem-solving method, and provide step-by-step worked examples. I will show you how to set up problems, identify necessary parameters, and break down complex concepts into manageable steps.
