About Matthew
Hi, I’m Matthew! I’m an incoming medical student at Oriel College, University of Oxford. When I applied, I had five interviews at Oxford — so as you can imagine, it was a very stressful December! I remember each interview containing difficult and sometimes seemingly absurd questions, and constantly wondering afterwards whether I had said enough or presented myself well.
My UCAT score wasn’t particularly high compared to the rest of the cohort, so receiving an offer showed me that the interview really is where you can stand out. Through that experience, I gained a clear understanding of what admissions tutors are actually looking for.

For Oxbridge applicants, our sessions focus on the unique interview style used at Oxford and Cambridge. You will certainly encounter questions that confuse you — and it’s completely normal to feel a moment of panic. What matters most is how you respond. We teach you how to stay calm, think out loud, structure your reasoning, and avoid caving under pressure. Sessions explore high-yield interview questions that develop into deeper discussions of important topics such as niche biological and physiological concepts, ethical reasoning, and scientific problem-solving. Detailed feedback and explanations help you understand not just the answer, but the thinking process behind it.
For MMI applicants, we provide structured preparation across the different station types commonly used by universities. This includes ethical scenarios, role-play communication stations, data interpretation, and teamwork tasks. We also run realistic MMI mock circuits and provide resources to help you practise the key skills examiners are looking for.
