My method & techniques.
I combine a communicative, task-based approach with step-by-step phonics for the alphabet and reading. Lessons mix listening/speaking practice, guided reading, targeted grammar explained with simple examples, and short writing tasks. I use real-life materials (menus, messages, videos), mnemonic sketches and spaced-repetition for vocabulary, and gentle corrective feedback so students feel safe to try and make mistakes.
A typical lesson plan.
5–7 min warmup (greetings, review of previous homework).
10–15 min focused skill (alphabet/reading or pronunciation drills).
15–20 min new material + guided practice (dialogues, roleplay, structured exercises).
10–15 min free speaking or task (ordering coffee, short story reading, translation).
5 min feedback and simple homework (2–5 practice items).
Lessons are flexible — I adjust time per block depending on goals.
What sets me apart.
I’m a native Russian speaker and psychology student, so I design lessons that reduce anxiety and build confidence (Gestalt-informed attention to how learners feel while speaking). I use visuals and quick sketches to explain grammar and support memory. I teach both in-person (central Tbilisi cafés or home visits) and online.
