About the lesson

For Ages 4-6,I use simple melodies and rythms to help them learn correct fingering and also incorporate fun activities like clapping games and rythm recitation.
For Ages 7 to 10, I introduce basic music theory, staff notes, rests and dynamics, finger interdependence, and composition and playing some complex songs.
For ages above 11, we explore various genres like classicals and jazz, we develop sight reading skills and musical interpretations.
At this stage we also use visual aids, and pictures. we make more practices enjoyable with challenges and rewards.
TeachingStrategy: I demonstrate then guide my student, break complex pieces into smaller sections and make practices enjoyable.
I studied music from my primary to secondary High level. I am an Ex-seminarian and music was one of the compulsory subjects we did.
A typical lessons lasts 1 hour and that includes warm up, specific skills, learning new pieces, sight reading, and fun activities.

Mr. Martin is very generous and a person with good energy around his students. I remember the first time he tutored my sister, it felt like they had already done the lesson together before. And most importantly he knows what he's doing.
