About Matt

As a piano tutor, I am deeply committed to motivating and encouraging each student. My approach is tailored to inspire confidence and foster a love for music, ensuring that every lesson is engaging and supportive. I believe in celebrating progress and helping students overcome challenges with a positive attitude.

My teaching style is both organized and structured. I design each lesson plan to build upon previous skills, ensuring a clear and progressive learning path. This method helps students develop a strong foundation while exploring various musical styles and techniques systematically.

I am also empathetic and understanding, adapting my teaching to fit each student's unique needs and learning pace. Whether addressing specific difficulties or exploring creative solutions, I aim to make each lesson productive and enjoyable. My goal is to make learning piano a fulfilling experience for every student.

About the lesson

In my piano lessons, I use real-life examples and case studies to help students understand how music theory applies to actual performances. This approach makes learning more relevant and engaging, whether you're exploring classical pieces or contemporary styles.

My structured and organized sessions cover a range of topics, including sight-reading, music theory, improvisation, and technique. We also dive into specific areas like classical repertoire, jazz standards, pop arrangements, finger exercises, and rhythmic studies. Each lesson is designed to build on previous skills and encourage progression.

To ensure comprehensive learning, we work through topics such as scales and arpeggios, chord progressions, ear training, dynamics and expression, and performance practice. This balanced approach helps students develop both technical skills and musicality, preparing them for any style they wish to pursue.

Whether you're a novice or aiming for professional-level proficiency, my lessons are tailored to your needs. By following a structured curriculum and incorporating real-world applications, you'll develop a deep passion for piano playing and achieve your musical goals.

Personalized piano lessons! With 14+ years of experience, I teach classical, soul, pop, jazz, funk, and R&B styles. Learn piano, harpsichord, and more—ignite your passion today!
