About Kyla
I completed my Bachelor in Medical Science and Master of Science in Neuroscience at Western University. Right now, I'm doing my PhD at the University of Toronto in Medical Science. Throughout my graduate studies, I've mentored dozens of students in my laboratory and taught courses as a Teaching Assistant. Students that I've taught in the past have appreciated my expertise, teaching style, and enthusiasm, and many have reached out for reference letters during applications for professional schools (they've all gotten in!) and kept in touch after graduation. Outside of school, I connect with students such as yourself and work with them privately. When I'm not doing science things, I'm usually hanging out with my family and friends or doodling on my iPad. With teaching assistant experience, I know what your TAs and instructors are looking for. I help students complete assignments, lab reports, and prepare for examinations by working through problem areas together. I like to use real-life examples and analogies, and love seeing students have that "Aha!" moment. If you are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic instructor that makes your science courses feel more fun, then we'd be a great fit! As a graduate student, I also mentor undergraduate students in my laboratory. If you are looking for insight into graduate school and research, I can also help with that.
