About Kirti
Hello! I am Kirti, a physics tutor from India.
I studied physics at IIT Mandi, where I completed an integrated BS-MS degree, and I later moved to the United States for doctoral research in computational physics at the University of Texas at Dallas, on a Presidential Scholarship. My work there involved molecular dynamics simulations and machine learning applied to physical systems, and I have published research papers along the way.
But honestly, the part of physics I have always enjoyed most is not the research. It is the moment a student stops staring blankly at an equation and says, oh, so that is what it means. I have been tutoring one to one for more than three years, and that moment is still my favorite part of the day.
I teach because I remember what it felt like to be confused by a subject that everyone insisted was logical. Physics is logical, but only if someone shows you the reasoning instead of asking you to memorize the result. That is what I try to do in every class.
Outside physics, I paint, I love quizzes, and I follow cricket closely. I am also preparing for the Civil Services Examination, which keeps me curious about almost everything

My classes are built on one simple idea: nobody is bad at physics. Students usually get stuck because someone handed them a formula before giving them the idea behind it.
So we begin with the concept and build a mental picture using everyday examples. Only when the idea makes sense do we bring in the equations, and after that we solve problems together, slowly at first, until you can handle them on your own.
Every class starts by finding out where your understanding actually broke, because two students can be stuck on the same chapter for completely different reasons.
I teach school physics, competitive entrance exam preparation, and university topics such as mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, waves, optics and quantum mechanics. I also help with numerical and computational problems.
My background is a master's degree in physics, doctoral research in computational physics, published research papers, and more than three years of one to one tutoring.
Classes are relaxed and interactive. You can stop me any time and tell me you did not understand something, and no question is ever too basic.
