About Tanya
I am a qualified educator & psychology buff who knows how to make learning fun, engaging, & supportive for every child. I hold a Master’s in Psychology, Neuroscience, & Mental Health from King’s College London, a PGCE with Distinction in Design & Technology from Goldsmiths, University of London, & a Level 3 Diploma in Counselling, blending academic expertise with hands-on experience. With experience as a class teacher, Assistant Head of Year, primary curriculum lead, & primary & secondary Design & Technology teacher, I have worked across educational settings & I have been consistently rated Outstanding for my relationships with pupils. I have also completed mindfulness training, helping children build resilience, regulate emotions, and thrive in learning & life. From planning engaging lessons, managing classrooms, & supporting children with SEND, to behaviour management, applied behaviour analysis, & creating positive learning environments, I bring a toolkit of skills. I am a whizz at curriculum design, project planning, & managing resources, all while keeping every child’s needs at the heart of what I do. I have a holistic teaching style, creativity, problem-solving, active listening, and reflective practice help me connect with children & families, making transitions, learning, & everyday challenges easier, calmer, and even a little bit fun.

Trauma-informed teaching with a blended pedagogy that combines active learning, direct instruction, and engaging hands-on approaches. Lessons run from 30–60 minutes and are fully tailored to each learner’s needs. With 11 years of teaching experience across both state and independent schools, Tanya has taught Design & Technology to Years 7–11 for seven years and spent four years teaching in primary settings, including mainstream and specialist SEND provisions. Can provide GCSE support for year 10-11 for Design and Technology. GCSE Psychology. Primary SEND (Phonics, Literacy, Maths, Design and Art) KS1-2.
