About Monique
Hello! My name is Monique, and I am a passionate and dedicated Science teacher who enjoys helping students understand and appreciate the world of science. I have experience teaching Biology, Integrated Science, and Human and Social Biology, including supporting students preparing for CSEC and CAPE examinations.
I became a teacher because I believe every student has the ability to learn and succeed when provided with the right guidance, encouragement, and learning environment. I enjoy making lessons engaging, interactive, and relatable by connecting scientific concepts to everyday life.
As your tutor, my goal is not only to help you improve your grades but also to build your confidence, develop your critical-thinking skills, and help you become an independent learner. I look forward to learning with you and supporting you throughout your academic journey!

My techniques and teaching methodology:
I use student-centred and interactive teaching methods that encourage active participation, critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. I incorporate the 5E instructional model, demonstrations, discussions, questioning, practical activities, visual aids, digital resources, and real-life examples. I differentiate instruction to accommodate students’ individual learning needs, abilities, and learning styles.
Typical length of a lesson:
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although the duration can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs, level, and learning objectives.
Your qualifications/experience as a tutor:
I am a qualified Science teacher with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Terrestrial and Freshwater Ecology (Biology) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education and Training. I have experience teaching Biology, Integrated Science, and Human and Social Biology at the secondary level. I have also provided online tutoring to CSEC and CAPE Biology students, helping them strengthen their subject knowledge, examination skills, and confidence.

My lessons are suitable for students approximately 12–18 years old, including secondary-level learners studying Integrated Science, Biology, and Human and Social Biology. I also support students preparing for CSEC and CAPE examinations, tailoring lessons to their academic level, learning goals, and areas requiring improvement
