About Tamsin

With over 5 years of experience as a piano tutor, I am dedicated to nurturing the musical talents of students of all ages and skill levels. My journey with the piano began early in life, and I pursued formal education and training that deepened my technical skills and passion for teaching. This blend of personal enthusiasm and professional expertise enables me to offer engaging and effective instruction tailored to each student’s needs.

My teaching philosophy emphasizes a well-rounded approach to piano education. I believe that a strong foundation in classical music is essential for developing technical proficiency, but I also incorporate a diverse range of genres, including jazz, soul, pop, and funk. This exposure to different styles not only keeps lessons exciting but also helps students become versatile musicians who can adapt to various musical contexts. My goal is to provide a comprehensive learning experience that balances technical skill with creative expression.

Understanding that each student has unique goals and learning styles, I tailor my lessons to fit individual needs. Whether a student is a beginner looking to learn the basics, an intermediate player seeking to refine their technique, or an advanced musician aiming to explore new genres, I design my instruction to align with their personal objectives. By focusing on technique, sight-reading, and musicality, I help students progress at their own pace while enjoying the process of learning.

Creating a positive and encouraging learning environment is at the core of my teaching approach. I believe in the power of patience, constructive feedback, and motivation to build confidence and foster a love for music. My aim is to inspire students to not only achieve their musical goals but also to develop a lifelong passion for the piano. Through dedicated and personalized instruction, I strive to make a meaningful impact on each student’s musical journey.
