About Om
I am an avid math, computer science, and engineering student with a passion for using technology to solve problems I encounter, no matter how big or small.
About two years ago, I started tutoring some non-English-speaking students in Algebra and Geometry through my high school. Personally, I enjoy the thrill of solving a difficult problem, and I tutor so I can share that thrill with others.
I will be graduating from high school this May (2020) and will be attending UT Austin starting this Fall to major in Electrical Engineering (in the Engineering Honors Program) and Plan II Honors.
During my sophomore year, through my AP Spanish class, I began tutoring several non-English-speaking students at my school who needed help with their Algebra and Geometry homework. It felt good to teach because the students enjoyed being able to understand new concepts.
I received a 5 on both the AP Calculus AB and BC exams my sophomore and junior years, respectively. I have spent hundreds of hours reading about and watching videos on college-level and graduate math topics, including but not limited to real analysis, complex analysis, differential equations, and combinatorics.
I am the captain of my school's math team and have regularly placed first at meets in events that test skills such as mental math, calculator applications, and general math knowledge.
This year, I also took the Mathematical Association of America's AMC 12 test and placed within the top 5% of test-takers. This qualified me to take the 2020 American Invitational Math Examination.

I have worked with Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II students as well as peers taking Precalculus, Calculus AB, and Calculus BC.
I would advise students to seek a teacher who makes sure that the student understands the concepts behind the problem, not just the specific computations.
