What I do for students:
- Listen to student's goals in playing (Access playing and knowledge skills)
For beginners;
- Start small. Climb from easier songs & essential songs that introduce important playing techniques before exploring more difficult options
For experienced players;
- Explore more in depth in various music styles, work and improve on existing knowledge
- A balanced mix of playing songs & music theory explanation, avoiding confusion when focused too much on one side
- Most important, Develop good listening skills in recognize instrumental parts and how to approach learning songs
