About Jordan
Hi, I'm Jordan! I'm an engineer-turned-medical student with a passion for science of all kinds, and an equal (but not opposite) passion for helping others break down the barriers stopping them from finding the joy in science as well.
I graduated with honors from UC Berkeley in 2021 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and I completed my Master's in the same department the following year. For the next three years I worked in neurosurgical device R&D at Medtronic before deciding to continue my education with medical school at the University of Bologna (current GPA 29.8/30). I originally started volunteer tutoring math during high school in 2016 and worked weekends as an educator at a children's science museum. I've recently restarted my tutoring business and I hope I can use my educational experience to make yours smoother!

One of the most important lessons from engineering school is the ability to work through a problem step-by-step and find out what's missing-- and I believe this is crucial to teaching as well as building. When I tutor, I like to work through problems step by step and see where my students' intuition breaks down. Then, I can help find examples and help them build a mental model that fits into material they already understand. Once I have helped my students assess their weaknesses, I like to focus on challenging areas and guide my students through exercises, helping them select strategies to reach the right answers themselves.
I have the most experience tutoring high school and early college students in physics and math; however, I am happy to tutor any STEM subject. Please reach out if you have any more questions or to schedule a lesson!
