Lesson Plan:
Each student is unique and require different tutoring methods, I’d first get to know them and what they’re struggling with then teach them in a way they could understand, think: learning how to speak their own unique language.
Before explaining any abstract concepts from the text book I'd invest time in discovering what genuinely engages the student outside of school. Whether their passion is gaming, sports, music production or digital art, I find their baseline interest and this will be my anchor for the rest of the unit.
Because now I will take these rigid, high-level VCE concepts and map them directly onto the mechanics of their hobby for example they could love roblox and I can teach them how to calculate the rate of change and accumulation of their robux income through calculus. Even relating skibidi toilet and tung tung tung sahur to any abstract mathematical problems in the sense that I am speaking their language, basically in their world and translating those abstract concepts into things they'll understand.
