About Calum
I really enjoy the process of teaching and seeing the positive impacts I have on my students. As I am a student, I have the ability to be very flexible with my schedule to fit in routinely around yours! I would describe myself as energetic and personal, and I like being able to teach subjects I am passionate about, as my enthusiasm usually rubs off on my students. My favourite part of tutoring is when I am able to get a student to fully understand something that they were confused about and hear the confidence in their voice when they work with me on the next problem.
Apart from this, I also play guitar and a few sports for fun, as well as work on my own engineering projects.

I usually do hour long lessons, but I believe that students require unique approaches, so I change that time depending on the student, as well as offer a trial session to get to know how the student learns. I enjoy leading students through their problems, instead of just answering their questions as this allows them to understand the content, which will help them remember it better and answer questions in more detail for exams. I gauge each student individually as some prefer to be told the answer and then work towards it together, whereas others enjoy me giving hints to keep them moving, but doing most of the work themselves. I enjoy teaching all ages and I plan and tailor my lessons differently for different age groups (13+, GCSE, A-Level etc), all of which I enjoy teaching. I graduated senior school with 4 A* in the subjects I am tutoring and have tutored all of them at an A-Level before. Since then, I am now studying Engineering at Cambridge and achieved a 1st in my first year and am predicted the same this year.
