I'm a civil engineer and in civil engineering if you are good at maths and physics then you are able to complete your degree other wise it will be problematic situation for one. As the area of my subjects are more practical then memorizing them. So, what I believe is practice. Practice until you memorize upon your finger tips. The lecture will be more oriented to common and daily problems rather then just following book and examples will also be daily type to have a better understanding.
