About Jenita
Hello! My name is Jenita, and I am a Computer Science student at UC Santa Cruz with a passion for helping students succeed in their studies. I specialize in teaching Algebra and beginner Python programming to elementary and middle school students, helping them build a strong foundation in these important subjects. I understand that every student learns differently, and my goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and explore new concepts at their own pace. As a current student, I can relate to the challenges that students face and know how to break down difficult concepts into easy-to-understand steps. My approach is both professional and empathetic, ensuring that each student receives the attention and guidance they need to succeed.

My teaching style is built around interactivity and clear, step-by-step explanations, ensuring that each student feels comfortable and confident in their learning journey.
When teaching online, I use digital tools like virtual whiteboards, screen sharing, and interactive coding environments to make lessons dynamic and ensure students stay engaged. I always aim to break down complex concepts into bite-sized pieces, making sure students understand the "why" behind each topic, not just the "how."
In Algebra, we start by focusing on core concepts like variables, equations, and solving for unknowns before progressing to more complex topics like systems of equations or quadratic functions. For Python, I make sure students understand basic syntax and logic before moving to more advanced topics like loops, conditionals, and functions. I also emphasize problem-solving, helping students build the skills to tackle challenges on their own.
Tutoring sessions will include:

New Content Introduction (15-20 minutes)
Guided Practice (15-20 minutes)
Wrap-Up & Homework Help (5-10 minutes)
