About Gavin
Hello, I'm Gavin, a 3rd year Computer Science student at Newcastle University. I love teaching people new concepts as well as the skills and mental tools to succeed in any subject.
Having achieved top grades while taking 4 A levels, I know the best approaches to maximise marks on papers while also inspiring genuine interest in the topics I teach.
I teach A level and GCSE maths, computer science and physics, as well as fundamentals in Java and Python programming.
I am confident in my ability to break down complicated concepts into easy to understand pieces. I am also very flexible in how I teach, adapting to the students' needs rather than following a fixed method that may not work for everyone.

My lessons focus on deep understanding of the fundamental concepts not just through explanations but also applying them in practice problems. Newly learnt topics will be recapped in following lessons to reinforce memory.
My main focus is on teaching content in the student's exam board curriculum, helping them with any issues in school work as well as helping them get ahead.
Engaging teaching material will be provided, including explanation slides, practice questions and brain teasers for building problem solving and understanding.
