About Shamere

My name is Shamere, and I am a credentialed Education Specialist and current M.Ed. student with a passion for helping students discover their confidence and potential in mathematics. With experience teaching Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Math Intervention, Math Foundations, and Financial Algebra, I have developed a strong ability to break down challenging concepts into clear, manageable steps that support each student’s unique learning style. I believe every student can succeed when provided with the right guidance, encouragement, and strategies. My goal is to create a positive and engaging learning environment where students feel supported, empowered, and motivated to achieve their academic goals.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is centered on building confidence, curiosity, and a strong foundation in mathematics. As Shamere, a credentialed Education Specialist with classroom experience teaching Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Math Intervention, Math Foundations, and Financial Algebra, I create personalized lessons that meet each student where they are and help them grow. A typical lesson begins with identifying the student’s goals and reviewing key concepts, followed by guided practice, real-world problem-solving, and strategies that encourage independent thinking. I use clear explanations, step-by-step instruction, and engaging activities to make challenging topics feel approachable and achievable. What sets me apart is my ability to combine my teaching expertise, knowledge of diverse learning needs, and commitment to creating a supportive environment where middle and high school students can strengthen their skills, improve their understanding, and develop lasting confidence in math.

We have had a wonderful experience with Ms. Riggins as our child’s tutor, and we have seen noticeable growth in both academic skills and confidence. She takes the time to understand different learning needs and patiently builds skills in reading comprehension, vocabulary, and math while addressing foundational knowledge gaps. What stands out most is her passion for working with students and her ability to make learning feel comfortable, encouraging, and achievable. We have seen our child become more confident, engaged, and willing to tackle challenging schoolwork, and we would highly recommend her to any family looking for a caring and knowledgeable tutor.
