About Amirah
As an individual, I enjoy working one-on-one with kids and seeing how much they grow in various aspects. I appreciate getting to be an integral part in one of the most important journeys someone can go on- the journey of education- and recognize that it is a deeply personal endeavor. I love getting to be a part of a change in you and helping you enjoy your learning and really understand it. Learning should be an enjoyable process and I will do my best to ensure that I meet each individual's needs to make that happen.

I have experience tutoring elementary level kids all the way through high school, in various subjects, though I specifically enjoy tutoring math. I have always been academically motivated and have taken (and continue to take) 15 AP classes throughout my high school years. I have passed every single exam I've taken and received a score of 4s or 5s on each of them, as well as maintained straight A's in an academic gifted program.
I recognize that each individual has their own method of learning, so I tailor my teaching to match what works best for the student. I have been someone who has constantly struggled with math and often had put a lot more effort into it than my classmates did, so I know how daunting it can feel when you just don't understand a concept. I am thankful that I learned just how much a good teacher can make a difference to your learning and motivation and aim to be that change for someone else. I am a strong believer that a good teacher or tutor can be the difference between enjoying a class and dreading it.
