About Sofia
Hi, I'm Sofia, a Psychology undergraduate at Newcastle University with a passion for helping students achieve their potential in Psychology, Sociology, English Literature, and History. Having struggled with A-Level Psychology myself, I understand how overwhelming the content and exam questions can feel. Because I recently completed the course, I have an up-to-date and familiar understanding of the specification, the most common pitfalls students face, and the exam techniques needed to achieve top grades while balancing multiple subjects. Through targeted support and effective study techniques, I improved from Cs and Ds to an A* and went on to study Psychology at university.

My tutoring focuses on both mastering content and developing exam technique. Many students know the material but lose marks because they don't know exactly what examiners are looking for. I help students:
- Understand difficult concepts in a clear and memorable way Improve essay-writing and evaluation skills — Develop effective revision strategies
- Build confidence with exam questions and mark schemes
- Achieve higher grades through targeted feedback and practice
As someone who has recently completed A-Levels and worked closely with tutors myself, I know which methods genuinely work and which don't. I provide structured lessons, personalised resources, and a supportive environment where students can ask questions without feeling judged. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students develop confidence and enjoyment in their subjects.

My rate is £20 per hour for online tutoring.
I offer a free 30-minute introductory session where we can discuss your goals, identify areas for improvement, and see whether my teaching style is the right fit for you.
Lessons can be rescheduled with no problem, provided reasonable notice is given. If you need to cancel a lesson, I ask for at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged at the full lesson rate, except in exceptional circumstances.
I aim to be as flexible as possible and understand that unexpected situations can arise. My priority is creating a supportive and productive learning environment while ensuring consistency for all students.
