About Anaqi
Hi there! I’m a data scientist with over two years of experience working in the exciting world of AI and machine learning. I graduated from the University of Toronto, specializing in Statistics: Machine Learning Stream—because why settle for just numbers when you can make them predict the future? I’m fluent in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools like Tableau, so whether it’s crunching numbers, building models, or making data look pretty, I’ve got you covered. While I may not have an official teaching background, I’ve spent plenty of time helping my friends navigate the wonderful (and sometimes terrifying) world of stats and programming. And guess what? Methodology:
I am a firm believer in active learning - especially for math, statistics, programming, and logic. The best way to learn for all these subjects is through practice, practice, and practice.
Lesson plan:
My lesson plans are pretty straightforward. First, we establish a long-term goal (e.g. create a project in Python) and then each lesson would be broken down to these simple steps:
1) Overview of topic concepts
2) Discussion
3) Practice problem
4) Collaborative evaluation of said practice problems
5) Extra exercises
The specific details of these steps vary depending on subject and long-term goal.
What sets me apart from other cool tutors:
As a tutor in my field, I believe in the power of collaboration and discussion. If you choose me as a tutor, a significant chunk of our time together would be spent on diving into the details of the topic, rather than just me teaching you what the topic is about.
