About Vythilingam
I am Vythilingam, a medical undergraduate at the University of Cambridge. It might seem puzzling as to the reason for me to teach Maths when my course is orientated towards reading and remembering facts. During my A Levels, Maths was my most favourite subject due to its vast scope for problem solving and application of known principles into more difficult conundrums. I also took the opportunity to explore maths outside the syllabus, allowing me to participate in various mathematical competitions and earning accolades along the way, most notably the Gold prize in the Australian Mathematics Competition. Now that I realised my course doesn’t offer much in terms of learning maths, I decided to teach the subject so that it stays relatively fresh in my mind. I have had loads of teaching experience up till now, volunteering at a primary school as well as Peer tutoring for Chemistry. I have also taught maths for 2 students based in Cambridge who have done really well in their first year exams so far. My teaching style focuses on explaining the theories quickly beforehand while expanding on more complex concepts through questions. I try to establish a strong foundation of the topic by grinding out the basics time and time again. I also adopt a flexible teaching approach depending on what the student requires. Vythi is an intelligent student who consistently sets a high standard for the rest of the medics. He is academically diligent, being always ready to offer answers in supervisions and writing essays to a high standard. As a fellow student, when I struggle with an academic problem Vythi tends to be the person I turn to, not only because he probably knows the answer but because he explains it patiently and well. I can see him becoming a fantastic tutor.

Vythi helped tutor me in Maths for my A-level. He is excellent at helping with the understanding of mathematical concept.
