About Shaunak
I believe that good teaching is about clarity, structure, and trust. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to build their confidence and problem-solving ability. I create a calm, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as this is essential for real understanding.
My teaching methodology is concept-driven and structured. I begin by strengthening the fundamentals and then guide students towards applying those ideas through carefully chosen problems. For Math and Physics, I focus on logical reasoning and exam-oriented techniques where appropriate. For Algorithms and Quantum Physics, I explain complex ideas using clear mathematical intuition, visual explanations, and step-by-step reasoning, making advanced topics accessible.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are adapted to suit each student’s level and goals. Every class includes clear explanations, guided problem-solving, and revision of key concepts. I provide additional notes, practice questions, and learning resources when needed to ensure steady progress outside lessons.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and am currently pursuing an MSc in Computing Science at University College Cork (UCC). This academic background allows me to teach both school-level and university-level subjects with professionalism and depth. I approach tutoring with responsibility, punctuality, and clear communication, and I take my role as an educator seriously.

My approach to tutoring is concept-driven and practical. I focus on building strong fundamentals first and then gradually move towards problem-solving and applications. Instead of rote learning, I explain the why behind every concept, which helps students develop long-term understanding and confidence.
For Maths and Physics, I start with theory using simple examples, followed by progressively challenging problems, including exam-style questions where required. For Algorithms and Quantum Physics, I combine mathematical intuition with visual explanations, pseudocode, and real-world or computational examples so that complex topics feel structured and approachable.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, but this can be adjusted based on the student’s needs. Each session usually includes concept explanation, guided problem solving, independent practice, and quick revision of key points. I also share notes, problem sets, and recommended resources when needed.
