About Diego

I have experience as a volunteer math tutor, supporting high school students in both English and Spanish. I completed the highest-level university preparation math courses in Ontario, where I particularly excelled in Advanced Functions and, Calculus and Vectors. These courses strengthened my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, which I now apply when helping students understand complex concepts. Currently, I am pursuing an Electronic Engineering Technology program at Seneca Polytechnic, where I continue to develop strong mathematical and technical foundations.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to help high school students in Ontario truly understand mathematics, not just memorize formulas. As someone who completed high school in Ontario, I understand the structure of the curriculum and the challenges students face — especially those whose first language is not English.

My teaching methodology is based on clarity, patience, and step-by-step explanation. I break down complex problems into simple parts and make sure students understand the reasoning behind each step. I also adapt my explanations depending on the student’s learning style, whether they prefer visual examples, guided practice, or detailed walkthroughs.

A typical lesson we would focus on current class topics, homework support, or preparation for quizzes and tests. I include practice problems during the session to build confidence and finish with a quick summary of key concepts.

What sets me apart is my bilingual support. I specialize in helping ESL and Latino American students who are adjusting to studying mathematics in English. I can explain concepts in both English and Spanish, helping students bridge language gaps while strengthening their math skills.

My lessons are ideal for:

- Ontario high school students (Grades 9–12)

- ESL students who need extra language support

- Students preparing for tests or final exams

- Students who want to improve confidence and problem-solving skills

My goal is not only to improve grades, but to help students feel more confident and independent in math.

I highly recommend Diego. I was in a really tough spot with math and didn’t think I’d be able to pass. Thanks to his help, I didn't just improve my grades in a short time, but I actually passed the course. He explains things very clearly and makes sure you truly understand.
