About Mya
As an engineering student with 1.5 years of tutoring experience, I understand how important it is to have someone explain difficult math concepts in a clear and approachable way. I have experience helping students with math and physics and enjoy breaking complex problems into simpler steps. I am patient, encouraging, and want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build their confidence and become more independent problem-solvers.

I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I like to connect math concepts to students’ interests whenever possible and keep lessons interactive by asking questions throughout the session.
I usually begin by working through a practice problem and explaining my thought process step by step. Next, we solve problems together, where I guide the student by asking questions about what they think the next step should be. Finally, I have the student work through problems independently while I provide corrections, feedback, and clarification when needed.
Toward the end of each session, I leave time for questions or homework help. My goal is to guide students without simply giving them answers, so they are doing most of the thinking and problem-solving themselves and can become more confident working independently.
