About Lucy
I have over 5 years of tutoring experience and hold a BSc in Applied Mathematics. My teaching journey has always been about making mathematics practical, engaging, and relevant. I enjoy connecting abstract concepts with real-world problems so students see the power of math in action. One of my key strengths is using game theory and optimization techniques to explain decision-making in economics and business. Concepts like Nash equilibrium, linear programming, and cost-benefit analysis are not just theory in my lessons—they become tools students can apply to real situations. My teaching approach in Maths focuses on clarity, confidence, and results. I design lessons that match the student’s level and gradually build their skills step by step. For topics like algebra, calculus, and pre-calculus, I simplify concepts and make them easy to apply in problem-solving. I also prepare students for competitive exams such as SAT, GRE, and GMAT where speed and accuracy matter most.
Targeted drills and timed practice tests are a core part of my methodology. They train students to think quickly, avoid common mistakes, and manage exam pressure effectively. I guide them in recognizing common pitfalls and show strategies that save time without losing precision. Step-by-step strategies help them score higher with consistent practice.
As a math historian and teacher, I also bring the subject to life with insights into the great minds and discoveries that shaped it. This makes learning not only about numbers but also about ideas and creativity. With this background, students see math as something inspiring, not intimidating.
