About ACathrine
Hi, I’m Cathrine. I’m currently completing my MSc in Data Science at the University of Surrey, and alongside my studies I have developed a genuine passion for teaching and supporting young learners.
I have experience working with children from early years through to secondary level, including experience supporting autistic children and children with ADHD. This has taught me that every child learns differently and that patience, encouragement and the right approach can make a real difference to a student’s confidence.
My academic background gives me a particularly strong foundation in Mathematics, Science and Computer Science, but what I enjoy most is taking something a student finds difficult and explaining it in a simpler, more approachable way.
I’m friendly, patient and adaptable, and I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions without worrying about getting things wrong. For me, tutoring is not only about improving grades it is about helping students believe in their abilities, become independent learners and enjoy learning more.

I believe every student learns differently, so my lessons are patient, interactive and tailored to the individual learner. I start by understanding the student’s current level, strengths and areas where they need more support, then adapt each lesson accordingly.
I teach Mathematics, Science and Computer Science, using simple explanations, worked examples, practice questions and real-life examples to make difficult concepts easier to understand. My aim is to help students understand the reasoning behind an answer rather than simply memorising it.
I also have experience working with autistic children and children with ADHD, so I am comfortable adapting lesson structure, pace, communication and activities to different learning needs.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted depending on the student’s age and requirements. I support learners from early years through to secondary level.
Most importantly, I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace. My goal is to build confidence, improve understanding and help each student become a more independent learner.
