About Heng
Hello! I'm a passionate and dedicated tutor with both classroom teaching and private tutoring experience. I previously worked as a government substitute teacher and an after-school tuition teacher, where I had the opportunity to support students with different learning abilities and academic goals.
I am currently working full-time as a Lead Analyst Researcher at LSEG while completing my Master's degree. My academic background and professional experience have strengthened my analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills, which I incorporate into my teaching.
I believe that every student has the potential to succeed when given the right guidance and encouragement. My goal is to create a positive, patient, and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching approach according to each student's learning pace, strengths, and areas for improvement. My lessons focus on building a strong understanding of concepts rather than memorizing answers. I explain topics using simple, real-life examples and encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson. Regular practice, guided exercises, and constructive feedback are incorporated to help students gain confidence and improve their academic performance.
A typical lesson lasts between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on the student's needs and level. Each lesson usually includes a review of previous topics, explanation of new concepts, guided practice, and short assessments to monitor progress. Homework or revision exercises may also be provided to reinforce learning.
I hold a Bachelor's degree and am currently completing my Master's degree, with graduation expected soon. I previously served as a government substitute teacher, where I gained classroom teaching experience and learned how to manage students with different learning abilities. I also worked as an after-school tuition teacher, providing academic support and homework guidance. In addition, I currently work full-time as a Lead Analyst Researcher at LSEG, which has strengthened my analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills. These experiences enable me to explain concepts clearly and effectively while helping students develop logical thinking and independent learning skills.
My lessons are suitable for primary and secondary school students, particularly those who need additional support in strengthening their academic foundation, preparing for school examinations, or improving their confidence in learning. I strive to create a supportive, patient, and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and are motivated to achieve their learning goals.
