About Anita
I have over 20 years tutoring experience, 9 of which have been online!
No matter your age or how far behind you or your child feels, it's never too late. I believe everyone is different and there is no one-size-fits-all way of learning; I customize my sessions to try to help each person in the way that works best for them.
I tutor and mentor in a variety of subjects and life situations, even yoga and life coaching, but I have the most experience with math. Many people who feel they aren't good at math find that really there was just something missing early in their education - we'll find those learning gaps and fill them! You can definitely do this! That is usually true for other subjects as well. It's about building understanding and confidence and developing a growth mindset.
I love seeing people thrive. Every time they have an "aha!" moment when something clicks and they see what they can do.
I started tutoring again when my sister-in-law needed help to prepare for challenging math classes at a new school, then later to set up and implement a science project for an entrance application. I really enjoyed being able to share knowledge and help her learn; after that, others were interested in having me teach them as well. I've been hooked ever since!
I have a BA from University of Texas at Arlington focusing in Biology and English. I started tutoring in college giving private saxophone lessons then came back to it a few years ago because I enjoyed it! I have experience tutoring math from 1st grade through pre-calculus, English, social studies and government, high school and college science, general mentorship and more!

I am currently tutoring online with the option to use a whiteboard. If you're interested in setting up a session, we will discuss a time and exchange contact information so we can have a video meeting.
Mostly middle and high school students, but I have also worked with elementary schoolers and adults!

We have been working with Anita since my daughter was in middle school, and she has truly made a difference not only in her grades but also in her self-confidence. Math was a struggle for my daughter, and she hated just the thought of spending time on it. Anita found a way to connect with her, and it went past just the subject matter. As my daughter entered high school, she supported her with organizational skills, and in other classes as well. I'm also not sure we would have gotten through the pandemic without her!
She is a very good teacher. She helped my kid improve his understanding of the subject matter and made him take an interest in Biology and helped him improve his grades.
