About Corey

Teaching and tutoring experience for 12 plus years with Math and Science students from 3rd grade through college.

Always had a passion for helping children, whether it be in the classroom, before or after school, even the swimming pool. My love for motivating young minds to achieve their academic or athletic goals is my drive.

Math and Science Bachelors degree, Masters degree in Education with a focus on STEM, and Specialist degree in Technology and Instruction

About the lesson

The student usually takes the lead and I will observe where the difficulties fall. Then, I will provide instruction with practice. I approach all tutoring sessions with a We, Me, I, which means we try the problems or learn the concept together, each of us complete a few problems independently and talk about the results, then finish with the student completing the remainder of the work independently with feedback when complete.

I am very energetic and am looking to inspire students to love and like math like my math teachers have done for me. Students who have grown to hate math....... I am your game changing tutor!

Helping an 8th grader feel more confident about knowing that her knowledge of the math was good enough to be successful. I was mostly just the motivator for her, she was so defeated about her math abilities from her past experiences with teachers and tutors that all she needed was a cheerleader that knew the math. She repeatedly achieved her math goals by just receiving 15-30 minutes of math support 2-3 days a week.
