About Teertho
Hi,
I am currently a senior math major at the University of Florida. I am highly proficient in all math classes taught at the high school level as well as many math classes such as the Calculus Sequence, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Abstract Algebra.
I love every aspect of teaching. The best part is the light bulb moment students often have when everything starts to click, but every time I am able to see the growth a student has made throughout my time tutoring them makes it all worth it for me.
My dad is an economics professor, and he used to teach me a lot of math when I was young. Because of that, I always tried to help my class mates when I was in elementary and middle school. In high school and college, this converted into tutoring students as well as helping out class mates whenever necessary.
I have taken math classes every year in school, and I have always been at the top of my class. Moreover, I participated at many math competitions and reached the state and national level in several of them.
I also have tutored many other students including peers as well as worked at a college tutoring center for multiple years.

The first thing I will do with a new student will be to identify their base level of understanding. From there, I always try to under the strong areas and weak areas of the student. Finally, the process is to focus harder on the weak areas of the student and try to build their overall sense of understanding of the topic at hand.
I have tutored all types of students. When I started working at the math lab I tutored at, I was 16; I tutored many students who were more than double my age. Moreover, I have tutored many class mates as well as people that were in lower grade levels than me, particularly middle schoolers. Because of these experiences, I feel confident in tutoring students of all age levels, even if they are older than me.
I think the biggest thing to look in a teacher is if they have the ability to transform their knowledge into something that you can understand. Even if a teacher is the smartest person in the world, if what they are saying doesn't make any sense to you, then it's pointless.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think that students should think about where they want to be at the end of all of the tutoring. The two biggest areas of this are the end grade they are trying to reach (some may want to get an A in the class while some may want to just pass) as well as how long the tutoring sessions will continue for (some want help just for a final exam while some want help for an entire semester or year.

My past private tutoring jobs have been between 20 to 30 dollars an hour. However, since this is an online medium, I am up to discussing a different price if necessary.
