About Willa

I am a Math tutor with over 3 years of experience and a BSc in Mathematics, passionate about helping students develop deep mathematical understanding. I specialize in introducing mathematical logic and proof theory, especially for advanced high school and early university students. My focus is on formal reasoning, including propositional and predicate logic, as well as foundational set theory. I make these topics engaging by using interesting paradoxes and challenging problem-solving exercises that encourage critical thinking. Many of my students are pursuing studies in philosophy, computer science, and pure mathematics, and I tailor my lessons to support their specific goals. I believe that mastering rigorous mathematical thinking is essential for success in these fields and beyond. My teaching emphasizes clarity and patience, guiding students through complex ideas step-by-step. Together, we explore the beauty of logic and proofs, building a strong foundation that prepares students for higher-level mathematics. I encourage questions and curiosity, creating a supportive learning environment. If you want to master the art of rigorous mathematical thinking and strengthen your logical skills, I’m here to help you every step of the way. Let’s unlock your full potential in mathematics together.

My teaching approach in Math focuses on building strong problem-solving skills and exam strategies tailored for tests like the SAT, GRE, and GMAT. I understand that time pressure can be challenging, so I help students learn how to work efficiently and avoid common pitfalls that often cost valuable points. I use targeted drills and practice tests to sharpen skills and boost speed. These exercises are designed to highlight areas that need improvement while reinforcing strengths. This method helps students gain confidence and become comfortable with the exam format. As someone deeply knowledgeable in the history of mathematics, I bring a broader perspective that makes learning more interesting and meaningful. I guide students step-by-step, breaking down complex problems into manageable parts. My goal is to prepare students thoroughly, so they feel ready and calm on exam day. Together, we develop strategies that focus on accuracy and time management, ensuring they can tackle even the toughest questions. I support learners at every stage, encouraging them to believe in their abilities and push beyond limits. This approach not only improves scores but builds lasting skills for future success. By the end of our sessions, students are not just prepared—they are confident and motivated to excel.
