My focus is to improve the understanding of my students, instead of focusing purely on exam results. I firmly believe that good exam results are a by product of a thorough understanding of the topic.
I teach using plenty of examples. In a typical lesson, I will present a topic with accompanying examples but I will also ask the student to solve similar problems during the lesson. I think it's crucial to learn by doing, rather than just by listening.
At the end of every lesson, I will give the student a number of examples tailored to the lesson content and the areas in which the student needs more experience with solving problems.
