About Qian Ya

I am a recent Foundation in Science graduate from Taylor’s College with a GPA of 4.0 and completed my SPM with 9A. I am passionate about learning and enjoy helping others understand challenging concepts. I am fluent in English and Mandarin, allowing me to communicate with students from different backgrounds.

Something that makes my teaching approach different is that I wasn’t always one of the top students in class. I used to struggle with academics and fall behind my classmates, but through determination, consistent effort, and discovering effective study techniques, I managed to turn things around and achieve excellent academic results.

Because I’ve experienced these struggles myself, I understand how frustrating it can feel when you don’t understand a topic despite trying your best. I want to help students not only understand Mathematics and Chemistry, but also discover study methods, problem-solving techniques, and revision strategies that work for them.

My goal is to make learning less intimidating and help students build confidence in their abilities. I believe that with the right guidance, effective strategies, and consistent practice, every student can make meaningful progress.

About the lesson

I offer personalised Mathematics and Chemistry tutoring for primary and secondary students who want to strengthen their understanding, improve their problem-solving skills, and gain confidence in their studies.

Having completed my Foundation in Science at Taylor’s College with a GPA of 4.0, I have a strong academic foundation in Mathematics and Chemistry. I understand that every student learns differently, so I aim to explain concepts clearly, break down challenging questions into manageable steps, and adapt my teaching approach to each student’s needs.

My lessons can focus on understanding fundamental concepts, practising exam-style questions, identifying areas for improvement, and developing effective problem-solving techniques.

I am patient, approachable, and happy to work with students at their own pace. My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and learning from their mistakes.
