About Ana

Hi, I’m Ana! I’m a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a passion for helping students learn and build confidence in their abilities.

I have three years of experience volunteering with elementary school students through the South Chattanooga Community Center after-school program, where I helped students develop their English, reading, and grammar skills. I have also volunteered teaching English to students in Indonesia, giving me experience working with students from different backgrounds and learning styles.

I am patient, dependable, and encouraging, and I always strive to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions and making mistakes. I understand that every student learns differently, so I take the time to adjust my approach to their individual needs.

Whether a student needs extra help with a challenging subject, wants to strengthen their skills, or simply needs someone to encourage them along the way, I’m excited to help them reach their goals!

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is patient, encouraging, and personalized to each student. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and are able to understand not just the answer, but the reasoning behind it.

For each lesson, I first take time to understand the student’s current level, strengths, and areas where they need additional support. A typical lesson may begin with a quick review of previous material, followed by an explanation of a new concept using simple examples. We then work through practice problems or activities together before allowing the student to try independently. I finish by reviewing what we learned and identifying anything we should focus on during the next lesson.

I have three years of experience volunteering with elementary school students through the South Chattanooga Community Center after-school program, where I helped students with English, reading, and grammar. I have also volunteered teaching English to high school students in Indonesia. These experiences taught me how to work with different learning styles and explain concepts in ways that are easy to understand.

I offer lessons for elementary and younger students in English, reading, grammar, and math, as well as algebra students who want additional practice or support. My goal is not only to improve grades, but to help students become more confident and independent learners. I want them to leave the lesson realizing they love to learn!
