About Thant
My name's Thant Nyo, a sophomore Mechanical Engineering student at Fullerton College, originally from Myanmar. I've been tutoring Calculus I & II on campus as an Embedded Tutor for about a year now, working directly alongside faculty to help students actually understand the material. Outside of studying, I'm a big sports fan, and probably running on less sleep than I should be. I have a pretty strong RBF but I swear I am really nice, patient, and genuinely enjoy helping things click for people. Think of me less as a tutor and more as a slightly-more-caffeinated friend who's already been through what you're going through.

Having tutored Calculus I & II as an Embedded Tutor at Fullerton College, I found that whenever students face a difficult concept or a problem, it is a good idea to take a step back, and go back to the root of things. I usually do this by giving much simpler examples, or breaking the problem down step by step. Each session usually starts with a quick check-in to identify where you're stuck or what's coming up. From there, we work through examples together, and then I have you try problems independently, only helping when I truly believe that you need the push. Then, I wrap up each session with a mini-review and a set of practice problems tailored to your exam or where you need to work the most on. And for what sets me apart is that I'm still pretty young, so I can be your tutor and your friend, no intimidating professor energy here. This is for College and community college students in Calculus I or II, AP Calculus high schoolers.
