About Soumeya
I began teaching when I was in high school, teaching young students how to read. From there, I started working with older students, tutoring them in English, French and Math. I worked as a Math teacher for 6th and 9th grade students at a summer bridge program, and I continued to tutor in all subjects as an undergraduate student. As a graduate student, I worked with high school seniors and college graduates on their writing skills for their admissions essays for undergraduate and graduate programs. I have done training for the summer bridge program in teaching, learned about curriculum development, worked at the Stanford Graduate School of Education and took education classes at Stanford.

I usually work with students from Elementary to High School. I always take time to get to know my students first, in order to understand their personality and what teaching style works best for them. I have taken courses in education and always make sure to tailor my lessons to the students' needs. I emphasize ensuring my students have an enjoyable time learning, by making lessons dynamics and engaging, pausing to ask questions, providing practical and real world examples. I am also fluent in French, and have some proficiency in Arabic and Mandarin. I love to learn and love even more to share the love of learning with my students!
