About Shanaka
I've been teaching mathematics and science to high school students and university students for over 6 years. I'm based in Hawthorn East, Melbourn, Australia, and have students worldwide, primarily from Australia, the US, and Canada. I’m a PhD holder in computer science and artificial intelligence at the University of Wollongong, Australia. I obtained my Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree from the most reputed universities with excellent academic grades. As both the degrees highly relates to mathematics and science, this background has helped me to deliver the most fruitful results.

I provide customized teaching services based on the requirements of students. As well as I deliver both specific topics and whole chapters / subjects. I provide quality personal/group coaching. I prefer interactive sessions over lectures. I begin with fundamental concepts and theories, followed by in-depth learning of practical applications and problem-solving/numerical skills at an increasing level of complexity, using real-life examples and data to better understand. I provide academic tutoring services and guide and assist students (school and University) in their assignments, math, science projects, research projects, science concepts, and test preparation. I help struggling students improve their critical thinking and problem-solving skills and motivate them by boosting their self-confidence. I use whiteboards, videos, and occasionally other forms of multimedia like presentations and tutes to facilitate an easy understanding. Most importantly, I cultivate a fun, interesting learning environment that encourages questions and discussions.
